(Note that this is NOT just adding the Origin version of the game to your Steam library - this copy of The Sims 4 is installed by and updated through Steam.) So when I saw the news that The Sims 4 had become available through Steam, I was a little annoyed - as a future Linux gamer, I wanted as much of my library launching through Steam as possible!īut as it turns out, we're in luck - there's a workaround that allows us to use the Steam version of the game while also using our Origin-purchased DLC.
Like many longtime Sims 4 players, I've bought a ton of DLC through Origin. If someone tries it out and it works, please let us know! Big disclaimer: I'm not actually playing on Linux (yet - my next build will be all-AMD), but I'd imagine this tip should still apply.
